You don’t need the whole map—just a place to start.

Therapy doesn’t require you to have all the answers. It just asks that you show up. Together, we’ll create space to slow down, explore what matters most, and take one meaningful step at a time.

If you’ve tried to change but still feel stuck—you’re not doing it wrong.

You’re not broken. You’re just carrying patterns that were never yours to begin with.

If you’ve been feeling disheartened by changes that haven’t stuck, confused about the way life has unfolded, or questioning who you are and why you feel and behave the way you do—this is where I come in.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck. I also know how defeating it can feel when you’ve put in the effort—read the books, tried to shift your mindset, maybe even done therapy before—only to find yourself back in the same cycles.

Through both my personal healing and professional training, I’ve learned that lasting change is possible. But it starts by going deeper—looking at the habits, beliefs, and patterns rooted in your earliest experiences. Not to blame the past, but to understand it. And from there, begin something new.

Together, we’ll explore your story with curiosity and care. We’ll unpack what’s been holding you back and start building the kind of growth that doesn’t just feel good in the moment—but actually lasts.

“When we are no longer able to change a situation we are challenged to change ourselves”

Hey, I’m Ramelle.

I started True Shift Psychology with one goal in mind: to make a real difference for people who’ve spent years trying to change, only to find themselves stuck in the same patterns.

People like me.

People like you.

With so many directions in the mental health field, I chose to focus on trauma because it’s often the root of what keeps people from living fully. Our early experiences shape how we see ourselves, how we show up in relationships, and how we move through the world—and until we understand that story, it’s hard to create lasting change.

That’s why I take a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that helps you not only uncover why you feel the way you do, but also figure out how to move forward.

My own healing journey, combined with years of focused training, has shaped the way I work. It’s direct but compassionate, grounded but flexible—and always centered on what’s most important: helping you create the kind of life you actually want to live.

This isn’t just what I do. It’s what I’ve lived.

Trauma-informed care rooted in research, training—and real-life experience.

Since completing my Master’s in 2022, my work has focused on one thing: helping people heal from the impact of trauma—especially the kind that starts in childhood and follows us into adulthood in ways we don’t always recognize.

I’m a trauma-informed Registered Psychologist with specialized training in EMDR, IFS and other evidence somatic based modalities, and ongoing supervision focused on supporting individuals with trauma histories. I stay current with the latest research and continue deepening my practice through advanced training in evidence-based approaches for long-term healing.

But here’s what really matters: I don’t just talk about growth—I’ve had to do the hard work myself.

And yes, it’s every bit as uncomfortable as my clients tell me.

A Few Things You Should Probably Know About Me

I think everyone should watch “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse” before starting therapy. I watch it with my 2 boys and cry everytime.

I love learning new ways to move my body and have tried so many sports. My favourite experience was going to Thailand for 2 weeks to a Muay Thai training camp.

What it’s like to work with me

Supportive, honest, real—and always in your corner.

I’m a therapist who shows up fully—genuine, grounded, and deeply committed to your growth. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and my care for your well-being is something you’ll feel in every session.

My style blends warmth and empathy with gentle accountability. I’m here to hold space when things feel heavy, but I’ll also nudge you toward the version of yourself you want to become—even when the work is uncomfortable.

Therapy with me is never one-size-fits-all. It’s collaborative, flexible, and responsive to where you are. We’ll explore your patterns, build insight, and try new tools—at a pace that feels right for you.

We might laugh. We might cry. We’ll definitely do both at some point.

We’re likely a good fit if:

  • You’re ready to take the first step (even if it’s just booking a session)

  • You’re open to learning more about yourself and doing things differently

  • You appreciate honest feedback and a little tough love

  • You’re okay with some humour and real talk along the way

  • You’re willing to trust the process—even when it surprises you

Therapy isn’t a straight line, but you can count on my steadiness while you grow more confident navigating life on your own.

How We Can Work Together

Trauma shows up in all kinds of ways—and at True Shift Psychology, we focus on helping you understand where it’s coming from, how it’s impacting your life, and what to do about it.

Our work together starts with creating a safe space to unpack your experiences and reconnect with the parts of you that feel stuck, hurt, or shut down. Whether your trauma is rooted in childhood, shaped by relationships, tied to performance or identity, or connected to your time in service—we’ll meet it with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based tools for long-term healing.

Here’s what that might look like:

Individual Trauma Therapy

Trauma can quietly shape how you see yourself, connect with others, and move through your day-to-day life. You may feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, ashamed, or stuck in cycles of negative self-talk. Through EMDR and other evidence-based tools, we’ll help you process the past and rediscover a sense of calm, confidence, and self-trust.

Couples & Relationship Work

Unresolved trauma often plays out in our most important relationships—leading to disconnection, emotional outbursts, or constant conflict. Using the Gottman Method and a trauma-informed lens, we’ll work together to rebuild communication, deepen connection, and support you in creating more stability and joy in your relationship.

Therapy for Athletes

Trauma in the athletic space is often missed or misread. Whether it’s tied to an injury, a drop in performance, or the loss of identity after leaving sport, we use sport-specific trauma therapy to help athletes process their experiences and return to their performance—and their life—with clarity, confidence, and resilience.

Veteran Support

For veterans, trauma can affect more than just memories—it can impact emotional regulation, connection in relationships, and life after service. At True Shift, we support veterans in processing trauma through EMDR and trauma-informed care, helping them move forward with more ease, fulfillment, and direction.

Ready to feel like yourself again?

If you’re feeling stuck and ready for lasting change, I’d love to connect and see if we’re a good fit. You don’t have to have it all figured out—you just have to be ready to try something different. Together, we’ll take the next step toward a life that actually fits you.
